Well, gyms are closed during the circuit breaker period. I have no choice but to run outside. We generally have it good in Singapore but I have to say we don’t have great weather, especially for outdoors sports. It’s either hot or raining and always humid.
That’s the main reason why I sign up for a cheap gym. So that I can take the weather element out of the equation. I can go jog on the treadmill anytime I like, whether it’s 12 noon or during a heavy downpour. I don’t have that luxury anymore.
Well, adapt is what I do best. I try to run after a thunderstorm or at night when it’s so much cooler. I realised from experience that my running speed and stamina have more to do with heat than anything else. I don’t do well in heat. Period.
Luckily for me, it’s been raining for the past few days. I have been trying to run every other day. 5-6 km around the neighbourhood. Then a climb up 10 storeys to reach my apartment. Always a good workout. On the days I don’t run, I do Tabata, some HIIT do at home exercise which is best suited to our current situation,
Hang in there everybody!
